Focus on Fruits!

Fresh, frozen or canned. No matter which type you eat, you’re getting vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from any kind. If choosing canned, try to find brands that use light syrup to decrease the amount of added sugar. With frozen fruits, use the ingredients label to check for added sugar – the best bet is a brand that has just one ingredient – the fruit itself.

  • Rinse before eating
  • Eat fruit with breakfast, on cereal or by itself
  • Skip the orange juice and eat the orange instead
  • Keep fruit in your dorm room – you might reach for it as a snack instead of an unhealthier option
